My 90 Workspace
Major redesign of Ninety’s My 90 Workspace.

The Problem
Many users start their day feeling unsure of their priorities, buried under scattered updates, and struggling to see what needs immediate attention. With tasks, meetings, and information fragmented across multiple tools, staying organized and focused is a constant challenge.
Users need real-time insights into team progress and a seamless way to collaborate, but there is no centralized, intuitive solution for managing team Rocks, Milestones, and KPIs. Instead, they rely on multiple apps for to-dos, notes, reminders, and communication—leading to duplicate work, misalignment, and broken workflows.
To solve this, we need to bring clarity, focus, and efficiency to how teams work—so they can spend less time managing tasks and more time making an impact.
Validity Testing
We decided to test the hypothesis:
“If we provide a centralized, intuitive workspace that surfaces priorities, real-time team insights, and actionable updates, users will feel more in control, reduce time spent switching between tools, and collaborate more effectively.”
To validate this, we tested with users who actively manage tasks, meetings, and goals across multiple platforms but struggle with fragmented updates and unclear priorities. By observing their workflow and gathering feedback, we aimed to understand whether consolidating key insights into one workspace would alleviate their frustration and improve efficiency.
After which, I prototyped a preliminary design for what new widgets and features could be shown on the new My 90 and I ran Moderated Validity Testing User Interviews with our customers to get a better understanding of what they want to see, what they don’t want to see and where we can improve.
After conducting validity testing on our My90 Workspace prototypes with customers, I consolidated and analyzed the findings to identify key patterns and insights. Users validated our initial assumptions—many struggled with scattered updates, lacked a clear starting point for their day, and found it difficult to track what needed immediate attention. Through feedback sessions, we uncovered specific pain points, such as difficulty prioritizing tasks, friction in accessing relevant updates, and a need for more intuitive navigation. By synthesizing this research, we gained a deeper understanding of user behaviors and refined our design approach to create a more focused, actionable workspace that truly supports users in staying organized and efficient.

What I learned
Clarity drives adoption.
Users don’t just want access—they want relevance. By surfacing the most important and time-sensitive items first, we helped users feel more in control of their day and more confident in the system overall.
“Everything” is not a strategy.
Early in the process, stakeholders wanted to include every possible feature in the workspace. Narrowing scope to focus on the highest-value actions not only improved UX but helped build internal alignment.
Simplicity is hard—but worth it.
Designing something that feels simple and obvious takes rigor. I had to repeatedly test assumptions, remove friction, and iterate on interaction patterns until the experience felt effortless.
You can’t fake context.
What works on desktop doesn’t always work in a workspace hub. It was essential to deeply understand users’ mental models, workflows, and pain points to design something that truly fit how they think and work.
